La guía de las escuelas: enfoque contextual

Abstract

En efecto, los iniciadores y primeros artífices de las “escuelas cristianas” tenían muy claro a quiénes las destinaban. Así es, de modo global; pero no basta. En este primer volumen querríamos identificar con más precisión lo siguiente: quiénes eran los hijos de los artesanos y de los pobres; cuáles eran sus condiciones de vida; qué problemas o dificultades podían encontrar en su vida cotidiana y de qué manera la escuela que nos describe la Guía podía ayudarles a superarlos. Este primer volumen querría también mostrar la coherencia educativa que había entre las intenciones proclamadas y la realidad vivida en la escuela. Por consiguiente tendremos que ir subrayando en la Guía las expresiones y los pasajes que nos remiten, de modo claro pero generalmente breve, a las realidades de fines del s. XVII.

For those who were involved in the establishment of the “Christian schools” from the very beginning, there was no ambiguity concerning the clientele to be served. It is not sufficient to state this in general terms. In this volume we would like to identify more precisely who these children of the working class and the poor were, in what conditions they lived, what problems or difficulties they may have encountered in their daily life and how the school described in the Conduite was able to help them overcome them. In this first volume we would also like to show the connection there was between the stated educational objectives and the lived reality in the school. We will need to point out in the Conduite certain expressions and passages that refer us clearly and succinctly to the realities of end of the seventeenth century
